High Blood Pressure Study

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE


African Americans have a greater risk than any other ethnic
group of developing high blood pressure, also called hypertension.
It typically occurs at a younger age and can lead to heart failure, stroke, and kidney problems.

Local physicians are conducting a research study comparing
the investigational use of two approved medications in their
ability to lower high blood pressure. African Americans with known
or suspected high blood pressure may qualify to participate.

All study-related care and study medication is provided at
no cost. Compensation for time and travel is available.

Your participation in this study will contribute to the understanding
of high blood pressure and aid the development of future treatments for African Americans.

TYPE 2 DIABETES

Do You Have Type 2 Diabetes & Have you been Diagnosed with moderate KIDNEY DAMAGE or DISEASE?

If so, and you are 18 years of age or older, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research trial.

Volunteers may receive, at no cost, study-related. . .

- Medication

- Medical care

- Laboratory work and evaluations

- Glucose monitoring supplies

- Diabetic and nutritional counseling

Medical insurance is not necessary to participate in this trial.

If you have mild to moderate high blood pressure,
you may be eligible to participate in a voluntary
clinical research study of an investigational drug.

Study participants will receive all investigational
study medication, and all study related testing and
examinations at no cost. Compensation for time and
travel will be available.

Diabetes Study

Do you have type 2 diabetes?


If you have type 2 diabetes, find out if you qualify for a clinical research study of an investigational diabetes medication. You may be eligible if you are:


- 18 - 65 years of age

- Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes fo at least 3 months

- On a stable dose of metformin for the past 3 months

We are enrolling adult volunteers now! If eligible to participate, you will be seen by a study doctor and receive study-related testing and medication at no cost. If enrolled, you will be reimbursed for parking and travel expenses.
